Compaction Grouting Support Columns

The project was designed and constructed to provide ground stabilization prior to construction a new high-speed rail line. To accomplish the ground improvement, compaction grouting of the existing soils was the specified treatment. ACT was awarded the contract for the compaction grouting by LAL Construction.

Prior to commencement of the production work, ACT conducted a full scale pre-production test. The test was performed using the actual equipment, methodologies and materials that would be used during the production phase of the project. The results of the testing program conformed with the design requirements.

A pre-production evaluation program was executed to verify design requirements and mix design for the compaction grouting.

All work was completed adjacent to an existing live rail line.
